The difference between it's and its

Here's some spelling advice from a non-native speaker. If you're not sure whether it is "it's" or "its", try replacing it with "it is" or "it has".

If you can replace it with "it is" or "it has": use it's.
If you can NOT replace it with "it is" or "it has": use its.

Geez.
